about

Vicky Yoon, better known to her parents as Chaebin (채빈), is a “1.5 generation” Korean American and longtime resident of the Greater Sacramento area. Her worldview is informed by her faith as a Christian, as well as her identity and upbringing as a Korean American. Her recent projects ask questions concerning the decolonization of Christianity and its expressions of faith. She finds photography as the most useful tool on learning how to see. Therefore, photography is both an expression of worship to the Creator of all things seen and unseen and a tool to engage dialogue in difficult or abstract topics.

Her photos have been described as a "care in looking" with narrative images that fill the frame. From fine art to client-based photography, she aims to capture genuine moments that tell stories in meaningful ways. She is available for hire for portraits and events, including weddings, serving the Sacramento, CA area and beyond.

Yoon holds an Associate of Arts degree from Sierra College in Photography and Video and has studied at California State University-Sacramento in their Bachelor of Fine Arts program for photography.
