"daylight" was started as a series of images for my junior level photography class at sacramento state university. during the midst of the covid-19 pandemic and virtual learning, i was feeling the paralyzing effects of depression and seasonal affective disorder. completely unable to leave the house to take photos, i instead searched for little splashes of daylight in my apartment. this gave me a much needed sense of accomplishment as a student as well as allowed me to find beauty in the ways light and walls and corners created abstractions, some ethereal and some geometrically grounded.
